PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Birthday Party is a systemic action game. The player embodies a little brat, whose goal is to ruin the birthday parties of other kids.
We wanted to create a fantasy where the player could unwind and experiment with his environment to create quirky situations.
WHAT HAPPENED
+ We knew each other pretty well, from previous projects, so we also knew our flaws and qualities.
+ The project first got a greenlight with the promise of a systemic core, it was a big challenge for us. We targeted pretty well at the start of the project and managed to successfully validate our intentions.
+ Our scope was unfortunately too big for what we had in mind. It was the first time any of us took care of production this big, and we did not have clear enough processes to guaranty our scope.
WHAT WE LEARNED
Processes are key to a project, and with better-defined ones, as well with a more managed scope, we would have been able to produce enough content for a potential release.
