Game Designer & Project Manager
November 2017 – February 2018 (4 months)
Camp.us is a social message game, in a semi open-world, made for Microsoft Imagine Cup 2018. It takes place on an American campus, called Brodale. The player embodies a student, enrolled in a community, whose goal is to make the other students happy!
Our goal with Camp.us is to fight school bullying and bring people closer to charities.
The player has to make his community the most influential on campus. For this game, we developed a complete dance-off system, which we are very proud of.

+ We got along well really quickly with my teammates, even though we had never worked together before. We had a great group dynamic and were always very motivated on this project.
+ I reached a lot of charitable organizations to know if they would be interested in this project and some of them replied with a lot of enthusiasm. Our intentions behind the project (fight against cyber-bullying, fundraising) and what we did with it make it one of the projects I’m the most proud of.
+ The constraints of Microsoft Imagine Cup were interesting, but at the end of the day, more complicated to work around than we expected, so we were a bit frustrated by that. At the beginning of the project, we had a really big scope, and we didn’t realize that right away, so we lost a little time by redefining our concept and make it more workable.
WHAT I LEARNED
We had to work on Camp.us on the little spare time we had at school, so I learned to organize our tight schedule so we could work on it even though we had many other projects on the back burner. I also did a lot of research about the operation and the architecture of American campuses and learned to conceive a complete phone user interface for the player to use.
