PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Scuba Boom is an endless vertical scroller action game, playable on Android phones. The player has to drag his finger in order to direct his submarine and destroy the infamous robotic fishes, on his way to the bottom of the ocean.

We decided the game design together, my main tasks were then the scheduling of the project and the production of the game’s sound design.

 

WHAT HAPPENED

+ All the team was under huge pressure with the other projects we had outside of this one, so we all decided to set a manageable scope, so we could do our utter best within the “work hours” and not exceed what we could physically propose.

+ The team was very peaceful and professional, an awesome thing under pressure.

 

+ Our speaker from Gameloft could not go to our school, because of major train strikes in France. Hence, we had to see him with a video conference, but it led to some misunderstandings about the economic model we had to conceptualize for Scuba Boom. We learned a lot about the functioning of this kind of game and the economic mechanics.

 

WHAT I LEARNED

This was our first project with a company, and there were some things we did not consider before while doing our projects, especially the economic model and the biases we had to use to retain our players.
